Job Title:   Project Coordinator (£34,000 - £37,813 DoE)
Length of contract: Full time - 1 year (SUBJECT TO FUNDING) from Aspiring Communities Fund with support from the European Social Fund.

The Kilmarnock Station Railway Heritage Trust in conjunction with Garelochhead Station Trust are looking to establish a provision for veterans, which will encompass physical and mental health wellbeing activity. This will be a community driven response to explore creative approaches to reimagine, redesign and establish a veteran’s support network in the local area. The aim of the project is to deliver transformative change; improving the health, wellbeing, economic opportunity and facilities in deprived and fragile communities. We will create a physical space a ‘Hub’ that integrates the community’s interest and their activities. The main target group will be, but not exclusively, veterans of the armed forces.

Summary of role:

As a result we are now seeking a Project Coordinator to develop and run a new, flagship project providing a Health and Wellbeing Hub for the local community experiencing loneliness and those in recovery from adversity. The commonality is that we will target those who are isolated and marginalised. This role will involve developing referral numbers and pathways.

The successful applicant work closely with participants and external groups to develop placement and volunteering opportunities that are of value to both the Hub and the wider communities around Garelochhead and the surrounding districts.

The role will showcase the partnerships commitment to broadening diversity and will provide a range of information, support, learning, benefits and engagement opportunities for the participants.
